Sci-Fi. kinda.

I fail so hard at fantasy/sci-fi creatures, but Mass Effect 2 made me want to try. I made an alien..rat...thing. In a robe. A green robe! Whoo. :D

New Tools

Christy showed me this really awesome guy's blog who made a few Photoshop tool presets, so I spent tonight playing with my new tool presets. OMG, totally in love - I'm using the pencil sketching one from now on for all of my basic sketching on my tablet - this is the closest I've ever found to really feeling like a pencil! :D

Lastly I played around with the watercolor preset he has. I suck at watercolors, so I found these to be very true to the original medium, heh.

New holes in my head!

I finally stretched my ears up to a 6g. They're pretty but are terribly uncomfortable at this moment. They'll get better soon! I drew a quick cartoon of me with my fancypants new earrings.

Tatting

I'm slowly learning an old needlework process called tatting. It's technique for handcrafting a kind of lace constructed by knots and loops. I wanted to prove to myself that I could pick up a new practice if I tried, and so far, haven't failed miserably! I've progressed from super basic stuff to the 'I almost look like I know what I'm doing' stage. :D

Today I made myself a beaded choker:

Whoo! I made a new banner for my art blog! It took me an hour to choose a font, because I am crazy. (I finally decided that I like Mesquite Standard, if you're curious :D)

I tried sketching the dog, but my husband was kinda blocking her lower half. :)
